Bespoke Frames

Tara Joy is now creating striking bespoke frames that not only frame the artwork but, which also extend the art out beyond the canvas into the room.

Here is a glimpse into the process of how she does this. Each one is unique and created specifically to fit with the individual piece of artwork.

She began this process original because finding good frames for her paintings was often difficult. Therefore she developed a process of up-cycling second-hand frames. In accord with her dislike of waste and love of making beautiful things from waste products, she started using recycled materials such as packaging from her books and old papers. Also because of her love for nature, she also integrated pressed flowers; leaves, twigs and other materials collected on her nature ramblings, into these frames. However she makes sure that she is considerate of the materials that she collects so as not to cause too much disturbance to the environment in the process.

This combination of materials creates many attractive and totally unique frames that fit with her artwork much better than most shop bought frames. Now she has also started making these on commission for framing works of art by other artists.
